Arnold Schwarzenegger has played a Tasker!
In the 1994 action film True Lies, the Governator himself played the lead role of Harry Tasker. His wife thinks he's just a boring salesman, so she has an affair with a salesman who claims he's a secret agent. This confusion mushrooms into a global crisis as Tasker and his wife are caught in the middle of a deadly plot by fanatical terrorists. Absolutely spectacular special effects feature Arnold flying a Harrier jet. Jamie Lee Curtis plays the other key role - Helen Tasker. |

Tasker Street
is a book of poems! Actually Tasker Street is a road in Philadelphia USA,
but it is also the name of a book by Mark Halliday, published in 1992 (ISBN:
0870237772). To quote from Amazon.com's
review: "How to bridge the gap between his reader's experiences and his
own is the question Halliday poses, but fails to answer, in this collection. A
mean-spirited rejection of another poet's confessional piece suggests the
pointlessness of such literary efforts". However the Library
Journal was more positive: "Halliday's second poetry collection, winner
of the 1991 Juniper Prize, is filled with poems that penetrate to our
hearts." And it's just $10.95! Click on the book for more.

Dr Dain L Tasker (1872-1964) was a pioneering artist - and the chief
radiologist at Wilshire Hospital in Los Angeles, finding time to write
the Principles
of Osteopathy in 1916. In
the 1930s he pioneered the use of x-rays as art, making beautiful images
of flowers. Gaining an initial audience in photography magazines, Dain
remained obscure and forgotten until his photographs were rediscovered
recently. Now hailed as historical milestones, they have been auctioned
for over $25,000 each! ''Flowers are the expression of the love life of
plants,'' Tasker once wrote, and the eroticism is often veiled,
sometimes overt. See his cool images here: http://www.heritagegraphicsintl.com/gallery1.htm |
