Tasker Sports

Steve Tasker played for the Buffalo Bills!
For six straight years (1990-95) and seven times overall, Tasker was rewarded for his play by being chosen for the Pro Bowl. Year in and year out and game in and game out, the special teams stalwart was covering kicks, downing punts or just making the moment miserable for the return man. Often described as having the look of a choir boy, Tasker played like a devil on the field. Fans learned to focus on number 89 during special teams because odds were that he would be in on the action. Click the photo for more.

Ken 'Tiger' Tasker was a wrestler!
Tiger Tasker may not be as well known as his childhood friend, Whipper Billy Watson, but he had no less an exciting career. He was a wrestler from 1936 to 1964, and then a referee in Toronto until his retirement from wrestling in 1978. From East York, although initially billed from Alaska (and wrestled as The Alaskan in some areas), he was short and powerful. Tasker's primary finishing hold is today best known as Lex Luger's torture rack.
Tasker and his friend of Whipper Watson trained together in Toronto and then went to England together in the late 1930s. Returning to North America in 1940, he established himself as a regular performer for promoter Paul Bowser in Boston. He won his Maple Leaf Gardens debut in 1948 but only won once more there over the next 13 years. In the early 1960s, Tasker moved to Niagara Falls, New York before coming back to Toronto where he became a referee.

Wes Tasker is Mataas na Guro in Pikiti-Tirsia!
Wes began martial arts training in 1981 in Kenpo Karate, then moved to the classical Japanese Jujitsu style Tenshin Shintai Ryu, then Kali in 1991.  He attained the rank of Lakan Guro and started studying Kalasag Kuntao-Silat, Kuntao Silat DeThouars, and Pentjak Silat Perisai Setia under Tuhon/Tuan Roberto Torres. After several years he attained the rank of Guru and Sifu in Kuntao Silat DeThouars. His training in Pekiti-Tirsia started in 2001, and he achieved the rank of Mataas na Gruo in record time. Besides continuing his study of Kuntao Silat DeThouars and Pekiti-Tirsia, he recently started to explore the Silat system of Baring Sakti Harimau Minang under Guro Michael Williams.  Even more here! Ken Tasker plays Ice Hockey for Toledo Storm! (Or maybe he's related to Ken 'Tiger' Tasker, the wrestler?)  Anyway, check out his hockey skills on video! And remember that our Kenny is the boy in white.  He rocks! Ouch! Is there a puck anywhere?
